New Hope For Sufferers Of Severe Vertigo Arrives In Baton Rouge

The Epley OmniaxTM was featured in a four-minute Special Report on WAFB's ten o'clock news. The station ran teaser commercials and a 90-second feature story on the five o'clock news. The story featured Dr.s Jim Soileau and Gerry Gianoli and the Epley OmniaxTM at the Ear and Balance Institute.

After the story aired, Dr. Soileau reported "the calls have been pouring in from patients who want to be treated on the Epley OmniaxTM." However, the Ear and Balance Institute has gained even more than calls from patients. “It is a great practice builder" said Dr. Gianoli, regarding the visibility the Epley OmniaxTM is garnering the Ear and Balance Institute amongst patients as well as the local medical community. "We are getting more referrals now that other physicians and medical providers know we have this new technology to help patients."

The study will be using the Epley OmniaxTM, a new technology designed to non-invasively diagnose and treat Positional Vertigo, the most common vestibular disorder. Funding for development of the technology and the study came from the National Institutes of Health.
The two other sites involved in the 180-patient study include a top research group at Legacy Hospital in Portland, Oregon and the Portland Otologic Clinic.
